Well, it has taken us about 6 weeks, but we are on the home stretch... we think! We have our new 180 gallon reef aquarium running now and the live rock is in place. Now all we have to do is wait until it has fully cycled before transferring our critters! For those of you who don't know, whenever new organisms are added to a saltwater aquarium, they go through a cycle of ammonia, nitrite, then finally nitrate. Once all traces of nitrate are gone, it's safe for fish and invertebrates.
Take a look at The Tank image gallery to see some cool photos taken throughout the lengthy process. But we're not done yet... so keep checking back for the latest and greatest updates!
Cheers!
